Allow me to introduce myself, and see if I am the right fit for you.

My name is Kalli Eagle Speaker and my Blackfoot name is Itsoyaik'anasoyakii, translating to Shining in the Water Woman.
I proudly come from the Blood Tribe/Kainai Nation, which is located in Treaty 7 territory and part of the Blackfoot Confederacy. As an Indigenous woman, my background inspires my role as a therapist as I recognize the disparities that exist in healthcare, and it is my goal to ensure those who seek counselling services feel heard, seen, and understood.
Outside of my therapeutic and professional work, I love beading, sewing, reading, building Lego, listening to podcasts, and visiting with family and friends. I'm also a proud auntie to my nieces and nephew, I'm a lifelong jingle dress dancer and a hockey player, and I'm a big lover of sports (Go Calgary Flames and Toronto Bluejays!)
Professionally, I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists working toward full registration. I received my Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASc.) in Indigenous Studies and Psychology, and Master of Education (MEd.) in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge. I operate Kalli Eagle Speaker Counselling Services as an Indigenous-owned private practice, with my physical location based out of Lethbridge Counselling Services in Lethbridge, AB.

I am an advocate for culturally-competent care in the mental health field, and I am grateful to offer my unique perspective and to be fortunate to work with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous clients and colleagues. My counselling work is influenced by my Blackfoot way of life, where we emphasize story-telling that explores our experiences, promotes introspection, and collaboratively reflects on the lessons and insights of your journey, so far. I emphasize trust and rapport as a foundation of the therapeutic alliance, and I am grateful to be in the presence of my client’s stories that are often unheard.

I implement evidence-based modalities and techniques where we explore what works for you and tailor to your needs. My therapeutic perspective works to address the various parts of you that make you whole, to explore the several chapters in your narrative, and ensure that we work collaboratively to identify the goals for your journey.
