Frequently Asked Questions
What is a registered provisional psychologist?
A Registered Provisional Psychologist is in the final stage of becoming a fully licensed psychologist. I have successfully completed my education with a master's degree in Counselling Psychology. As a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, I require 1600 hours of supervision from a registered psychologist to ensure competent, safe, counselling practice for my clients. I am currently under the primary supervision of Dr. Ivana Djuraskovic.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I can direct bill to Alberta Blue Cross, Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP), Sun Life, and Greenshield on your behalf. Most other insurance companies cover Registered Provisional Psychologists, including but not limited to, DesJardins, Medavie Blue Cross, Manulife, Canada Life, GroupSource, People Corporation, Johnston Group, and GroupHEALTH.
You will need to pay up front and I will send you a receipt to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. It is your responsibility to ensure that my services are covered under your insurance plan, to understand the amount of sessions covered, and coverage amount. You are responsible for paying out of pocket should your insurance coverage exceed.
Do you accept non-insured health benefits (NIHB?)
Unfortunately I cannot bill NIHB as a Registered Provisional Psychologist, as they only provide coverage to Registered Psychologists and Registered Clinical Social Workers.
However, please contact me directly if you rely on non-insured health benefits (NIHB) for benefits and do not have other insurance means. In an effort to remain accessible to Indigenous clients for individual counselling services, I offer a limited amount of counselling availability at a low-cost option.
